Craig Runde, renowned authority on managing conflict effectively will present to the chapter. He is the author of several important books on managing conflict with his colleague Tim Flanagan, including Becoming a conflict competent leader (2013), Building conflict competent teams (2008) and Developing your conflict competence: A hands-on guide for leaders, managers, facilitators, and teams. Craig's presentation will explore the nature of workplace conflict and the competencies required to manage it effectively. The interactive session will investigate the importance of dealing with conflict effectively. It will also look at how to develop the specific skills needed to do so.  Finally, it will look at how leaders can create an a conflict competent cultural in their organization.
